Before the first 11 weeks of training at West Side Tech in Chicago. Before the second- and third-year programs at IBEW Local 134’s apprenticeship school in Alsip, IL., and before the fourth – and-fifth year seminars that total 1,200 hours over five years, aspiring electricians must participate in and complete orientation.
